Vaastu Shashtra

The best gift is the one that will help you experience the joy of giving and receiving with someone else. These are the ones that make you think that this person really cares about you or this person really knows what you like.

Giving and buying the gift is a great pleasure. It’s a way of expressing our love for someone, but it is important to understand that there are some items that should not be given according to Vaastu Shastra.

1. Watches:

Most people have the habit of giving a watch as a gift. Gifting a watch in this way negatively reduces life expectancy. Items that are well past the expiry date should never be given as presents as they not only bring bad luck to the sender and receiver of the gift but can also ruin the friendship between them. Wall clocks and watches should not be given by a younger person to an older as this represents the passage of time.

The rationale behind implied “bad luck” of gifting a watch occurs, because it is said that when the watch stops working, the love ends or relationship ends but there is no bad luck involved when parent gifts a watch to their son or daughter.

2. Handkerchief and Napkins:

Some people like to give a personalized gift like a handkerchief or napkins and these remain on the top of the list. But according to vaastu shastra, it is believed that gifting a handkerchief will bring bad luck. It is considered a very bad gift, especially for lovers. Gifting a handkerchief spreads negativity among the people. As per the belief, it has something to do with inviting sobbing. People believe that a handkerchief is used for wiping tears. So, someone who receives a handkerchief as a gift will lose their tears. If you don’t want your beloved ones to cry, avoid giving this item.

A handkerchief is used to wipe off the sweat on the forehead, we should not give it. The forehead is often associated with luck. People give gifts of towels and handkerchiefs but this should not be given as a gift according to vaastu shastra, this can be detrimental to both the giver and receiver.

3. Sharp Weapons:

Do not gift any sharp weapons such as knives. Vaastu shastra says that this will cause harm to both the giver and receiver.

Knives, scissors and other pointed items are said to bring bad luck not only just in vaastu shastra, but also Chinese Feng Shui. A gift of anything that is sharp and pointed, creates extremely hostile and negative energies and brings bad luck to those that the gift is given to.

A common saying in Chinese is “One Slash Two-Part ” which China’s signifies the end of a friendship.
